How we interpret reality

Contents

In the book Creiamo cultura insieme and also in other various sources is expressed the concept that we do not see reality as it is, but we interpret it. See also Brain.

There is a difference between the actual reality and our interpretation of the reality. It is often used the analogy of the map and the territory. The actual reality is the territory. Our interpretation of the reality is the map. The map may be more or less accurate but it is not the actual territory. It is only a representation of it.

Typically our representation of reality is adequate, but sometimes may be inaccurate.

Because the map is not the territory, we could misinterpret the reality and therefore make non optimal decisions.
